The factors that set the price
Door and drawer count. This is the single biggest factor. Every door and drawer front is removed, cleaned, sanded, primed and sprayed individually. Two recent Calgary kitchens we refinished had 15 and 17 doors, drawer fronts and openings — a larger kitchen with an island and a wall of pantry doors is simply more pieces and more finishing time.
Condition of the existing finish. Grease build-up, peeling or failing coatings, and damaged doors need more preparation and repair before any colour goes on. Honest prep is what makes the new finish bond and last.
Colour change. Going from a dark espresso or oak tone to white or a light colour takes full-coverage priming and can need additional coats to hide the old colour completely. A colour match or a refresh of a similar tone is a lighter scope.
Extras in the scope. Added crown moulding, glass-front doors, and built-ins or bathroom vanities finished to match are quoted as their own lines so you can choose.
